Burn out however depletes us of energy, our tank is empty! burn out causes us to disengage, to feel disconnected we can loose all motivation our ability to function and can be left feeling hopeless and as if there is no way our situation can change.
While burn out is mostly recognised with in the work place its important to note this can happen when ever we are subjected to repeat and prolonged life stresses. It is something that happens gradually over time and can creep in without us always noticing.
So what can we do to protect ourselves from burn out in a world where more and more is expected of us?
Lets start by getting one thing straight… looking after ourselves and putting ourselves first is not selfish it is vital for our tank to remain full! So have a think of the things you enjoy doing, the things that re energise YOU. It could be taking a bath, going for a nice long walk, fishing, cooking, reading a book etc.
